It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David G. Ironside, of Montreal, QC, at the age of 65. Beloved son of the late James Ironside and Isabella (nee Will). He is survived by his three children, Andrew, Sarah (Kevin) and Geordie (Kate). Loving grandfather to Samuel and long-time cherished partner to Carole Marino, son Christopher (Roxana). He leaves his only brother James, wife Linda, nephews Scott and Ryan and family as well as many relatives in Canada and Scotland. He will be greatly missed by former spouses, Anne Purdy and Shannon Smith.

David was a respected attorney who had a lengthy legal career which included a 30 year partnership with a dear colleague and friend, Leon Maliniak and also as attorney and legal advisor for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Section Locale 1751.

Besides hard work and dedication to his profession and personal care and concern for his clients, he was a very devoted and loving father. His children and family were foremost in his life while his kindness and generosity to others and his sense of humour were an inspiration to all those who knew him. He will be sadly missed.

A service will be held in his memory at 2 P.M., on Tuesday April 2nd, at the Mount Royal United Church, 1800 Graham Blvd., in Town of Mount Royal.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of the 5th floor Oncology Unit of St. Mary's Hospital , Montreal, for their kindness and wonderful care.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre at McGill University, (514) 398-3535.
