In Memoriam
Thanks very much to Christine Shatilla Emery for the above photo of Bonnie, which was taken a couple of years before Bonnie passed away. Christine says:
Bonnie was my dearest friend for 34 years. She was a caring, generous soul with a wonderful sense of humour. I still miss her.
Thanks very much to Helen Booth for sending the obituary notice for Bonnie. Helen says:
I was completely shocked when I read this in the newpaper. I hadn't even known that Bonnie was living in Calgary where I live. At the time, I spoke to Jill, Bonnie's sister, and learned that their mother had visited Bonnie the week before Christmas. Bonnie's husband told me that Bonnie had had chemotherapy 30 or 40 times , but had only been hospitalized for a week or so prior to her passing.
I attended the memorial service for Bonnie. It was a service laden with emotion, and ending with a bagpiper in a kilt, who played "My bonnie lies over the ocean".
