John Tolhurst

TOLHURST, John William Munro

April 20, 1945 – January 23, 2013

The family of John Tolhurst is deeply saddened to announce that he passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at his home in Thornbury, Ontario on Thursday, January 24, 2013.

John was the beloved and cherished husband of Edie Johne-Tolhurst who predeceased him in December 2008 and beloved father of Sean Tolhurst (Trysh) of Burlington, Ontario and the late Mark Tolhurst who predeceased him in February 2006. He was a recent Grandfather to little Victoria, daughter of Sean and Trysh.

John was a much loved brother to Victoria Noble (Duncan) of Shediac Cape, New Brunswick and George Tolhurst of Dewittville, Quebec. He was a much loved Uncle and Great Uncle to Bruce Noble (Amanda Justason) of Sydney, Nova Scotia and their children Samuel and Charles; Craig Noble (Krista McLeod) of Chicago, Illinois and their children Connor, Heather and Matthew; and Andrew Noble (Eloise) of Whale Cove, Nunavut and their children James and Alexander. He was predeceased by his beloved parents George (dec. July 2003) and Ruth (dec. December 2012) Tolhurst of Dewittville, Quebec.

John earned a B.Sc. in Agriculture from MacDonald College of McGill University and an MBA from York University. He will be missed by many and long remembered by those fortunate to have known him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Ferguson Funeral Home, The Valley Chapel, 20 Alice Street E. in Thornbury, Ontario.
